A-Z of Summer: Treasure Hunt

A treasure hunt can be as easy as hiding items around the house and/or garden and sending your friend off to search from them.

You could shout out hot or cold the closer or further away they get from the item.

Or if you want to be really creative you can think up clues that lead people in the right direction.  The clues can be anything from a question or a statement to a riddle or even a photograph.

Questions:
Ask questions that will lead to the area in which you have hidden the next clue for example; Clue number 2 can be found off the ground.  Where would our feathered friends go when they are dirty?
A bird bath!

Riddles
:
What is white when it’s dirty and black when its clean?" - Blackboard.
"Stiff is my spine and my body is pale, but I'm always ready to tell a tale." - Book.
My life can be measured in hours, I serve by being devoured. Thin, I am quick, Fat, I am slow, Wind is my foe." - Candle.
"What's black when you get it, Red when you use it, And white when you're all through with it?" - Charcoal.
"Runs, but cannot walk, sometimes sings but never talks. Lacks arms, has hands; lacks a head but has a face. " - Clock.

Abstract photographs:
Take a picture really close so that only part of the scene is revealed, give the picture as a clue.

At the end of the treasure hunt make sure the last clue points to a lovely prize.
