Race for Life: Barnstaple

Cancer Research UK's Race for Life is more than an incredible day out – it's helped fund amazing advances in cancer research across the UK for the last 17 years.

Whether you walk, jog or run the 5k course, you can join thousands of women all round the country raising money to help beat cancer.

Thanks to people just like you, more people are beating cancer than ever before. So sign up to Race for Life 2011 today to help save even more lives.

Race for Life is the UK's largest women-only fundraising event where all the money raised goes to funding Cancer Research UK’s life-saving work.

Events: This is where and when you can take part this summer...Entries for some Race for Life in Devon have been much lower than we anticipated, which would mean less money raised for life-saving research. Taking into consideration the cost of staging the event, we have therefore taken the difficult decision to merge some events this year.

  • Barnstaple, Seven Brethren Banks, Sunday 10th July, 11.00am, 5k

All participants who have already signed up for the afternoon event in Barnstaple on 9th July - now merged with the morning event at the same venue on 10th July - are being contacted and advised of the change. Anyone who can’t make the new time will be able to transfer to another Race for Life event. More information can be given by calling the Race for Life hotline on 0871 641 1111.

The 2011 Goal:
2011 is a very ambitious year for Cancer Research UK's Race for Life. Every two minutes someone is diagnosed with cancer, and that's why this year we need more women than ever before to join events across the UK.
A fifth of Cancer Research UK's income is generated through Race for Life, so our goal is to recruit 1 million women and raise £80million for our life-saving work.
