'Big Bird' Arrested!
Police in North Devon had to deal with a rather unusual incident on Wednesday 28th November!
A member of the public rang police just before 08:00am - He reported an Ostrich type bird walking along St Georges Road, near to Pilton Park.
When Acting Sargeant Zoe Parnell and Police Community Support Officer Stephen Huxtable arrived at the scene they were greeted by dozens of people taking photos of an EMU.
Although the bird was in a state of panic they managed to coax the bird into the back of the police car and call the owner.
Wildlife officers are now checking the bird is in good health and trying to make contact with the owner.
