Sexual Assault on Train

British Transport Police (BTP) officers investigating a sexual assault on board a train between Bath Spa and Trowbridge rail stations are appealing for the public's help to identify a man they want to speak to in connection with the incident.

Officers have today released CCTV images of then man they believe will have information which can assist their investigation.

A man attempted to make conversation with the 17-year-old female victim on the platform at Bath Spa railway station at around 10am on Monday 23 August 2010.

PC Andy Boston, investigating officer, said: 'The victim boarded the 10.08am Bath Spa to Weymouth service and took her seat. The man who had spoken to her on the platform also boarded the train and sat down next to her before touching her leg and attempting to kiss her.

He left the train when it arrived at Trowbridge rail station, leaving the victim shocked and upset.

I am appealing to anyone who recognises the man in the CCTV images, or who knows his whereabouts, to contact police straight away as we believe he will be able to help us with our enquiries.
