Bedford: Police After Deep Pocketed Bingo Raiders

Bedfordshire Police have told Heart they're looking for a gang who broke through the roof of a bingo hall in Bedford, and stole around £10,000 in cash.

The burglars managed to get away with about £10,000, mostly in coins, after breaking into Club 2000, at the Aspects Leisure Park, via the roof.

The incident happened between about midnight and 3am on Wednesday (May 29). The burglars cut through the outer roof of the premises, through the interior ceiling, then using a ladder dropped into the area where the slot machines are.

They then emptied 27 slot machines and change machines, before exiting the club the same way they entered.

Det Con Lynn Adams is appealing for information from anyone who may have seen any suspicious activity, people or vehicles, in the early hours of Wednesday morning as the burglars broke in or left with their haul.

If you can help, please contact Det Con Adams on 01234 275142, or call the police 24-hr non-emergency number 101, or text the control room direct on 07786 200011, or call  independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555111. You do not have to give your name, but you could still receive a cash reward.
