The man was attacked in an upstairs business premises at Tavistock Street, Bedford, about 7.30am on April 10.

The entrance of the premises opens at the back of the building on the first floor and cannot be seen from the street.

The manager opened the door to the first man, who was followed by three others.

In an unprovoked assault, one of the men produced a small knife and the victim received two deep cuts to his body. He fought back and chased them out, but is very shaken up by the experience.

Detective Constable Surinder Ram, of Bedford CID, is investigating the case and decided to release CCTV footage and photographs of the attack hoping that someone may recognise the attackers.

"While three had their faces covered to a greater or lesser degree, one man is captured on camera as he enters the door. The wounds the victim suffered could have been much worse and while we have a number of lines of enquiry running at present, I hope that someone will recognise the offenders and we will we able to arrest them more quickly as a result," said Det Con Ram.

Anyone with information can contact Det Con Ram direct on 01234 275328, or Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555111 or text police on 07786 200011.
