An eight year old boy has been bitten on the face by a dog in a Shefford playground.

It happened on Sunday July 28 as the boy was playing with his older sister in the park at Churchill Way.

The owner of the dog walked into the park with two young children when the victim approached them.

The Weimeraner type dog then bit the 8 year olds face causing cuts to his lip.

The offender used his own t-shirt to wipe away the blood before fleeing the park with his dog and two children.

The victim returned home where his parents called the police before taking him to hospital for treatment to his wounds.

Officers are keen to hear from anyone who may have witnessed the incident or from anyone who may have information about the offender who is described as a white male, in his late 20s or early 30s, around five feet nine inches tall and believed to live locally.
