A 52-year-old Bedford man has pleaded guilty to attempting to murder his former partner

Clifton Marshalleck, of Cottrill Way, Bedford, admitted trying to murder Michelle Baxter, who was found with life-threatening stab injuries on Saturday 19 May this year.

He made a brief appearance at Luton crown court where defence barrister Stefan Weidmann asked for the case to be adjourned for pre sentence reports.

Judge Richard Foster agreed and remanded Marshalleck in custody. The case will be opened some time after 5 October. A date has still to be fixed.
