Man Shot in Bedford

Detectives in Bedford have launched an investigation after a man was shot outside a house in the town yesterday (Sunday 16 January).

Officers were called to Reddall Close at 5.35pm following reports of gunshots.

A  30-year-old was taken to hospital where he remains with serious, but not life threatening, injuries.

An investigation, led by Detective Chief Inspector Melanie Burn of the Bedfordshire and Hertfordshire Major Crime Unit, has been launched. The area has been cordoned off for forensic examination.
 
Police, who have stepped up patrols in the area to help reassure the public, want to speak to anyone who witnessed the incident or has information that may help.

Beds Police say they are currently keeping an open mind on the motive for the shooting.
