Police are hunting a 52 year old man after his former partner was found stabbed at a house in Bedford.

Detectives want to speak to Clifton Marshalleck, 52, who is believed to have escaped in a Ford Focus from the woman's home in Cottrill Way.

The woman, who is in her 30s, is in a life-threatening condition following the stabbing at her home in Cottrill Way at 7am on Saturday.

Bedfordshire Police say they want to speak to Clifton Marshalleck as a matter of urgency. He is described as black, about 5ft 8ins tall, stocky, with a shaved head and a dragon tattoo on his left arm.

Officers are making enquires to locate Marshalleck across the Home Counties and South East England. He could still have access to the silver five-door Ford Focus Zetec, registration number AF03 HYW, which was taken from the house at Cottrill Way.

Anyone with information that can help police is asked to call Bedfordshire Police on the non-emergency number 101.
