Named And Shamed On Buses

Criminals convicted of offences like robbery and burglary could soon see their police mug shot on the side of a bus.

Bedfordshire Police have teamed up with Arriva for their new advertising campaign.

Alongside the photos will be statistics from the police highlighting how well the force is performing.

Assistant Chief Constable Andrew Richer has been speaking to Heart about why they are doing it:

"I think it should reassure people to the affect that they are confident that Bedfordshire Police is engaging criminality very hard and we also hope it will make people who are thinking about committing crime think twice and consider the consequences of their actions and where they might end up"
