Pair Arrested Over Puppy Theft

Two people have been arrested after eight puppies were stolen from a house in Queens Park, Bedford at the end of June.

Five puppies have been found, but three are still missing.

The arrested pair are currently on police bail pending further enquires.

The seven male and one female blue and white Staffordshire Bull Terriers were taken on June 24 from Ford End Road. They will be approximately six weeks old now and because they are so young had not been micro chipped.

DC Barry Kibble from Bedford CID is appealing for anyone who may have information about the three missing puppies. He said: "These puppies are very young and therefore small so could be concealed quite easily. They are thought to be valuable and I would like to speak to anyone who may have been offered them for sale.

"Their owner is not a professional breeder but a loving pet owner whose dog gave birth to these puppies. She is very emotionally attached to them and distraught at their disappearance but is delighted five have been found. Anyone who can help is urged to come forward."

Anyone with information about the three puppies still missing should call the main switchboard on 01234 275184, text to 07786 200011 or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
