Police say they're concerned about a 35 year old woman from Bedford who's been missing since going out shopping on Boxing Day.

Sonica Hans, aged 35, from Priory Court, Bedford, left the flat she shares with her sister on the afternoon of Wednesday 26 December 2012, saying she was going to the shops.

However, she never returned.  She has also failed to turn up for work without explanation.

Sonica has not been missing before and her family are at a loss as to where she is or why she has not made contact with anyone.

Indian-born Sonica is about 5ft 3ins tall, with very long black hair which is currently dyed dark brown. She was last seen in red trousers/leggings, black jumper and wearing a dark blue jacket.

PC Ian Evans, from the Missing Persons Unit, said: “Sonica’s family have had no contact with her and so far we have also drawn a blank as to where she may be. This behaviour is totally out of character and obviously they, and we, are concerned for her.”

“If anyone has information about where she is or has seen her, then please contact us so that we can ensure Sonica is safe and well.”

“It is possible that Sonica is perfectly well but has decided to take a break from her life in Bedford and would prefer not to let people know where she is. We can respect that decision, so if Sonica herself is reading this, please phone us direct or drop into your nearest police station. You can contact us in complete confidence, just please let us know you’re OK,” he said.
