Bedfordshire Police are appealing for witnesses to come forward after thousands of pounds worth of plant machinery were stolen from a building site in Blunham over the weekend.

It happened sometime between 2pm on Saturday November 2 and 7.45am on Monday November 4 on a closed road that runs between Brickgate Bridge and the Twin bridges in Tempsford Road, Blunham.

The offenders appear to have used a vehicle to flatten temporary fencing that surrounded the site before breaking a number of locks to gain access to temporary offices. Once inside, the offenders stole a number of tools as well as the plant vehicles which were parked outside.

Items stolen included (with estimated value):

Hydraulic breaker (£5000)
Compressor (£3000)
Generator (£1500)
Power saw (£400)
Electric breaker drill (£400)
Transformer (£100)

Gary Maxey, who is investigating the incident, is keen to hear from witnesses who may have seen something suspicious in the area prior to the burglary or from anyone who saw the offenders fleeing the area. He would also like to speak with anybody who may have been offered any of the stolen items.
