A pilot had a lucky escape when the vintage plane he was flying crash landed in a farmer's field yesterday (Sunday July 3rd).

The 44 year old pilot suffered just slight injuries and was able to walk away from the plane.

It happened when the plane came down in a field close to the Old Warden Airfield near Biggleswade in Bedfordshire.

The vintage single crew plane was taking part in an air display at the airfield which is home to the Shuttleworth collection of old aircraft.
