Woken woman scares burglar away

Bedfordshire Police are looking for witnesses who saw a burglar fleeing a house in Linden Road, Bedford, at 8.15pm on Monday 10 January, 2011.

The victim, a woman in her early 40s, was at home, in bed, when an offender broke into her first floor flat. When she heard noises and went to investigate she saw a male in a black hoody in her kitchen. She screamed and he made off taking her Toshiba Satellite laptop with him.

He was seen to leave the area on foot by a witness.

Detective Constable Claire Case, investigating, said: “This was a very shocking incident which left the victim distressed after her home was invaded. We are looking for anyone who saw this man fleeing the Linden Road area carrying a laptop in his hand.”
