Woman Victim Of Attempted Robbery

Police in Bedford are appealing for information after a 64 year old woman was the victim of an attempted robbery.

The incident happened on Thursday (March 24th) at 8.30pm when the victim heard a noise in her home on Brereton Road.

She called out her husband’s name but when she didn’t get a response went to investigate and found a man and a woman in her home.

They demanded cash from the victim and when she screamed the man put his hand over her mouth. The woman then fell to the ground before the offenders left the scene empty handed.

The first offender is described as a white man, approximately 5’11” tall with a slim build and wearing a black balaclava and dark coat.

The second offender is described as a white woman, approximately 5’3” tall with a slim build and wearing a black beanie hat and dark coat.

DC Matt Clark of Bedford’s Robbery Squad is keen to trace anyone who can help identify the two offenders from the descriptions given or anyone who saw two people in the Brereton Road area acting suspiciously last night.
