Bodies of Berkshire couple identified

Read the tributes paid by the family of the Berkshire couple found dead four miles apart.

Thames Valley Police can confirm the identification of the people who died at incidents in Woodley and Twyford on Wednesday (30/06).

Ann Rees, aged 45, from Malone Road, Woodley, died at her home address. A post mortem examination carried out on Thursday (01/07) revealed she died from multiple stab wounds.

Steven Rees, aged 49, also from Malone Road, died at Twyford Railway Station after being struck by a train. A post mortem examination carried our today revealed that he died from multiple injuries.

Thames Valley Police is not looking for anyone else in connection with the deaths.

Det Insp Rod Howell, who is leading the investigation said: “Although we are not looking for anyone else in connection with these deaths we will continue to investigate the incident to try and establish why this tragic incident happened.

“In due course we will then hand over a report to the coroner.

“I would again like to appeal to the press to respect the family’s privacy, in particular that of their young daughter Katy, and allow them to greave in peace.”
