British Transplant Games

Heart's been finding out how a team from the Thames Valley got on at this year's British Transplant Games.

Earlier this month a team of twenty-five transplant patients who had been treated at the Royal Berkshire Hospital in Reading took part in the British Transplant Games in Bath.

The aim of the Transplant Games is to encourage patients to regain fitness whilst increasing public awareness of organ donation.

This year the team from the Royal Berks managed to win thirty-five medals.

34 year old Helen Purbrick from Newbury had a kidney transplant through the Royal Berkshire Hospital in 2008.

The donated organ came from Helen's best friend, Kelly.

Both Helen and Kelly took part in this year's games, with Helen managing to bag four medals including a Gold for the 100 metre Breaststroke.
