CCTV image released of Reading thief

Thames Valley Police has released a CCTV image of a man wanted in connection with two thefts in Reading town centre.

The man walked into Waterstones on Broad Street and Internacionale in the Broad Street Mall, and opened the tills with a key before removing a quantity of cash.

The incidents both happened on 14 January between 3.30pm and 4.10pm.

PC Mark Sinclair, from Reading police station, said: “It is possible that this man has been travelling around the country committing similar offences in other towns.

“It is not known how he has obtained the key that opens these tills, but having it allowed him to access the tills very quickly.”

Anyone who recognises this man should contact PC Sinclair on 0845 8 505 505.
