A Reading man's been sentenced to two and a half years in prison after he stole an 89 year old woman's handbag.
30-year-old Rory Sims, from Burbridge Close, Calcot, committed the burglary on 14 February.
He knocked on the window of the 89-year-old victims flat in Southcote and stole her handbag.
In court yesterday Rory Sims was sentenced to 30 months in jail.
Case Investigator Megan Purnell, from Reading CID, said:
“I am really pleased with the sentence given to Sims today. I am happy that justice has been done for the victim of this burglary as she was very upset by the incident.”
