Borrow a Bike scheme in North Somerset

A new Borrow a Bike pilot scheme aimed at those considering cycling to work has been launched by North Somerset Council.

The scheme means you can have the use of a bike for two weeks for free and find out if cycling works for you.

North Somerset Council has teamed up with local Weston-super-Mare bike shop Bicycle Chain where you can present a special voucher to borrow hybrid, electric or folding bikes to those who would like to give cycling a try.

To find out more about how the scheme works go to www.n-somerset.gov.uk/smartertravel . You can email sustainable.travel@n-somerset.gov.uk to request a voucher or pick one up at a Travel+ road shows held by local employers.

The scheme is funded by the Department for Transport via the Local Sustainable Transport Fund and priority will be given to people who attend Travel+ road shows.
