Bristol storytelling festival

Bristol storytelling festival starts in the city on January 26th.

During the festival a selection of professional storytellers will perform for children, families and adult audiences. There is also the chance for people to get involved and tell stories themselves.

Last year, over 1200 people attended the storytelling events during the festival. This year the 6th Bristol Storytelling Festival will have new storytellers, specially commissioned events and new venuies.

Co Director Martin Maudsley said, 'Storytelling, like 'real ale' and 'slow food' is experiencing a ressurgance in popularity. it's real entertainment that tells a story in its simplest form and allows listeners to use their imaginations. We hope to make storytelling accessible and inviting to people of all backgrounds in Bristol, especially those that have never heard stories told be professional stroytellers before. By the end of the week we want the whole city to be buzzing with the sounds of stories.'
