Bristol's Biggest Bike Ride back next year

After a crash on the route forced organisers to cancel Bristol's Biggest Bike Ride it may not be rearranged for 2011.

Bristol City Council say there may not be time to rearrange Bristol's Biggest Bike Ride for another date in 2011 after Sunday's event was cancelled just before it was due to start.

It was called off - for the first time in it's 18 year history - after a road accident on The Portway left it potentially unsafe.  More than 5'500 cyclists were due to use that road as part of the route.

The Council say it will be back for 2012.
