Cannabis Factory In Bedminster

Police in Bristol have seized cannabis plants worth over a million pounds from a drugs factory in Bedminster.

Two men, 30 year old Nguyen Van Hoang and 28 year old Uu Van Trung, were arrested at the scene and have both been charged with the production of a class B drug, possession with intent to supply of a class B drug and using electricity without authority.

They are due before Bristol magistrates on friday afternoon.

When Heart visited the factory in an old bank on East Street police had only searched 3 rooms and found more than a thousand plants. By the end of the operation Officers had found a total of 2028 plants, 50-60 bags of soil and 160 lights and transformers. The drugs have a street vale of £1,045,000.

Officers were acting on information passed to them by the Met police in London.

Sergeant Jon Bane said: "This is a large scale sophisticated set up capable of producing many thousands of plants. This operation should send a strong message that drugs will not be tolerated in Avon and Somerset. I would urge the communities to continue to help us by reporting any information they have. I assure you that it will be met with a positive police response."
