Get a birds eye view from the Bristol Wheel

It is the height of 15 double-decker buses and will give us one of the most spectacular views in the West Country.

A 60m high big wheel has been put into place in the centre of Bristol, at The Podium in Broadmead.

It took eleven trailers to transport the 365-tonne wheel from London, where it was used as part of the Christmas celebrations in Hyde Park.

The wheel has 40 gondolas which can carry up to six people who will have a 12 minute ride, there is even a VIP gondola.

Bristol Wheel The wheel opens at the weekend and will run until May, opening times are between 10am and 8pm, Sunday to Thursday, and between 10am and 10pm on Fridays, Saturdays and bank holidays.

Rides cost £6 for adults, £5 for concessions and £4 for children over three years old and shorter than 1.4m tall. Children under three go free.
