Let's talk about sex

Parents in Bristol are being encouraged to talk to their children about sex.

A new campaign is starting in the city to get more mums and dads talking to their children about the subject.

Leaflets are being sent out to places like schools and GPs surgeries and a website with advice for parents has been launched as well.

"We did a survey," says Anne Colquhoun, the Teenage Pregnancy Strategy Coordinator in Bristol: "Parents were saying that they wanted to be the people talking to their children about sex and relationships. Children, from other surveys, said they wanted to talk to their parents, but actually it wasn't happening. That's what this campaign is about, to get parents to talk more to their children."
