Bristol Mum raising awareness of son's rare illness

A Bristol mum is trying to raise awareness of the rare condition Frederich's Ataxia after her 10 year old son was diagnosed with the illness.

The condition is likely to leave Liam in a Wheelchair and then go on to effect arms, hands, speech and eye sight.

Sometimes the condition can affect the heart which can shorten the life expectancy usually 10 years after diagnosis, but it has already been confirmed that Liam has the condition.

Liam's mum Laura is now trying to raise cash for the charity 'Ataxia UK' and to take him on a trip to Disneyland.

Liam's family and friends are also doing a fancy dress 'Buggy Walk' in the Fishponds/Frenchay area of Bristol starting in Vassels Park on Saturday 19th at 2pm.
