Police team takes on organised crime

We can now find out if there is a Mr Big living around the corner from us!

A regional crime fighting team have launched a online map of where they have made arrests and sezied assets.

The Zephyr team launched in September last year and is made up of police officers from five forces - Avon and Somerset, Devon and Cornwall, Dorset, Gloucestershire and Wiltshire.

Since its launch Zephyr has made more than 60 arrests and has seized around half a million pounds in assets and around £300,000 in cash. They have also confiscated a substantial amount of Class A and Class B drugs, weapons and fraudulent documentation.

Zephyr also has around £13million of assets currently under restraint pending further investigation.

A new Zephyr website www.zephyrsouthwest.com combines the latest news releases, pictures, videos and interviews and will also give people the opportunity to report any information they may have directly to the team.

There is also an interactive Google Street Map which enables us to see where Zephyr has had success arresting and charging offenders.
