Walk of Life 2017
Walk Of Life 2016
Join hundreds of people across Bath, Somerset and Wiltshire on Saturday 13 May for The Forever Friends Appeal’s first walking marathon and help raise funds for patients at Bath’s RUH.
Join The Forever Friends Appeal – and their Ambassador Michael Eavis CBE – for the Walk of Life’s first ever walking marathon! The Walk of Life is a positive walk to celebrate life, along the beautiful Kennet & Avon canal, which is open to both men and women.
Every year, hundreds of people take part in the walk across Bath, Somerset and Wiltshire and last year’s event raised over £40,000 to help transform care for patients and their families at Bath’s Royal United Hospital.
This year the full route is being extended to a 26.2 mile walking marathon, starting at The Crown Inn, Bishops Cannings (near Devizes), via Bradford on Avon and finishing at Bath’s iconic Holburne Museum. Whoever joins you, you are guaranteed beautiful scenery along the Kennet & Avon Canal whilst enjoying a fun walk with friends, family or colleagues.
You can choose to take on the full 26.2 mile challenge or sign up to walk 10 miles in the afternoon, from Bradford on Avon to Bath. Every section of the canal is beautiful, so the choice is yours!
Full Day: Bishops Cannings (Near. Devizes) – Bradford on Avon – Bath (26.2 miles)
Afternoon section: Bradford on Avon – Bath (10 miles)
The Walk of Life is kindly sponsored by Kier Construction, who are working in partnership with the RUH to develop the hospital site.
The event is open to both men and women and you need to be able to walk 3.5 miles per hour.
Entry costs just £20 per person and by signing up you are pledging to raise a minimum of £100 per person for an RUH Campaign or ward of your choice.
