4 Men Smash Security Van at Weston ASDA

Four men 4 men used hammers to smash open a security van in a supermarket raid at Weston-super-Mare.

It happened around 7.30am yesterday morning (Sat 7th February) outside the ASDA in Phillips Road.

All the men were wearing masks at they forced their way into the security vehicle and a quantity of cash was taken.

A store security guard tried to intervene but was threatened by the thieves.

The offenders involved in the robbery got into what is thought to be a dark coloured estate vehicle and drove from the scene in the direction of Waitrose.

One offender is believed to have made off on foot.

We are keen to hear from anyone who was in the car park at ASDA or Waitrose this morning who witnessed the incident or who may have seen a dark coloured estate car which appeared to have been driving at speed in the area.

We are particularly keen to find out which direction it took after leaving the Phillips Road retail park area.

If you have any information, please contact Somerset Investigations on the force number 101.
