More wet and windy weather on the way
Must Watch Flooding Video
Moorland is a village of 2 halves - those that are flooded, and those that are not.
Most the Village was evacuated after flood water engulfed homes when the Parret burst its banks. But there are 16 houses on higher land that escaped and now residents are racing against time to save their homes from rising water.
Ed and Paulina from Heart Breakfast visited Moorland to take a look at the floods up close and to have a cuppa with some of the residents. They told of stories of Police and Military knocking on their door advising them to evacuate - but they decided to stay put.
Now, with pumps, thousands of sandbags and an almost war-like spirit, they are working around the clock to protect the few dry homes from going under.
The only way into the Village for residents and supplies is on an amphibious vehicle which the locals have nick-named "Ninky Nonk" - watch the video
Heart has continuing coverage of the floods-crisis in Somerset with news and travel every 15 minutes plus updates day and night.
