Bristol Zoo's Walk of Fame

The city's favourite icons are honoured on plaques made by Bristol Blue Glass and are located around Bristol Zoo.

The launch party was on Thursday evening (14th April 2011) at the Clifton Pavillion, so armed with my camera and a smile, I headed up there!

What a fun night it was. Famous faces from the West Country turned up to receive their plaques including Bill Bailey, Johnny Ball, Acker Bilk and Nick Park.

It's not just celebrities who are honoured though, Rolls-Royce Filton, Bristol Old Vic and Bristol Blue Glass are also included.

It's part of Bristol Zoo's 175th birthday celebrations and is sponsored by Mama Bear's Day Nursery and Pre-school.

After the awards were handed out, there was a performance by the legendary Wurzels. I think I MAY have had a bit to drink by this point, so I happily sang and danced along. What's a party without a bit of a sing-song?!

I was very excited to meet Nick Park, the creator of Wallace & Gromit and also Pirate Pete gave me a signed copy of his book!

Thanks to Bristol Zoo for their hospitality and next time you're wandering around, look out for the famous names on the Walk of Fame.
