The Lion King Tour

It's been based in London's West End since 1999 and now for the first time ever, Disney's The Lion King is going on tour in the UK. First stop - Bristol!

Based on the 1994 Disney animated film, The Lion King has captivated audiences of all ages. It made it's way from screen to stage in 1997 in the US and landed in London a couple of years later.

Now, the multi-award winning show is heading on it's first ever UK tour, with it's first stop here in the West Country at the Bristol Hippodrome!

I spoke to the President of Disney's Theatrical Group, Thomas Schumacher and actor, Jonathan Andrew Hume, who plays Simba ahead of their Bristol run.

Watch the video below to learn the history of the show and how it may have never made it to the screen or stage at all!
