Saturday 1st, Action Day Extra. 10am until 2pm in Cherry Hinton.  Join the big clean up at Hinton Hall, there will be litter picking and general tidying throughout the day and Vintage Jo's Travelling Teas will be joining to provide tasty treats. For more information visit the website here

Saturday 1st, Charity Pool Competition. 7pm at The Plough at Great Shelford. Local world number one pool player, Phil Harrison will be challenging people at pool to help raise money for Global's Make Some Noise. For more information check out their Facebook page. or call 01223 847986.

Saturday 1st,  Saturday. Abseil for Great Shelford Playscape. Test your nerve and stamina by climbing St Mary’s steep winding stairs and then enjoy the rare opportunity of abseiling the 60 ft. back down to solid ground! Friday 7th, Fun with Glass Fusing Workshops at Glazed Creations, 3 Baldock Street, Royston SG8 5AY. 7pm until 9.30pm. Friday 7th and Saturday 8th, The 3 Musketeers at Swavesey Village College. 7.30pm. Come and along an be entertained by Swavesey RADSOC; as they perform an original drama written by one of the members of the group, Matt Isham. Tickets: £8 for adults and £6.50 for concessions. Friday 7th, Romsey Mill Charity Golf Day. Cambridge Merdian Golf Club. 8.30am Registration for 10am start.The entry free is £240 (plus an online registration free) for a team of 4, for more information head to their website.

Saturday 8th, The Sky's The Limit. 5.30pm. Back by popular demand, Sacrewell is once again teaming up with Peterborough Astronomical Society (PAS) for their annual October Star Party. Free entry for children.

Friday 14th, Fish Supper. St Johns Church in Cambridge.  7.30pm. Cambridge and District Branch RNLI - The Lifeboat Service are holding a fish supper and quiz night for all to enjoy. 

Saturday 15th, Handmade For You Artisan Craft Fayre.  10am until 3pm at the Peterborough Garden Park. A fun family day filled with a selection of artisan stalls including wood turned items, buttons pictures and keepsakes, fabric bags, cushions along with handcrafted jewellery, hand stitched cards and delicious food. The perfect chance for you to treat yourself.

Saturday 15th, Beavers, Cubs and Scout's BIG Jumble Sale at the St Luke's Church in Cambridge. 10.30am until 12pm. Raising funds to deliver the adventure of scouting to 100 young people (girls and boys), aged 6 to 17.

Saturday 15th and Sunday 16th. The National Festival of Railway Modelling. East of England Showground, Peterborough. This unique event showcases over 30 working layouts and over 100 quality traders. Also a variety of demonstrators you can learn from or enjoy watching. For more information head to their website here .

Friday 21st and Saturday 22nd, Cake Sale.  8.30am until 5.15pm The Cancer Research Shop in Ely is having a cake stall in store.

Saturday 22nd until Sunday 30th. Half Term at Sacrewell Farm. Pumpkin bowling, squash carving and camp fires are part of the daily activities at Sacrewell this October half-term.

Saturday 22nd. Jumble and cake sale at St Mary's Parish Hall in Huntingdon from 12pm until 2pm. There will be an array of cakes and items for people to jumble through to help raise money for the NSPCC. 

Saturday 22nd & Sunday 23rd. Patchwork & Quilting Exhibition at the Yarrow Gallery in Oundle. Admission £3.00 which includes free refreshment, there is also a raffle, tombola & quilting demonstration. All the proceeds to Volunteer Action.

Tuesday 25th. Autumn Fete at Aria Court Carehome. 2.30pm until 4.30pm. There will be a raffle, apple bobbing, children's halloween competition and table top sale, to raise money for the Residents Activities Fund.

Thursday 27th. Murder Mystery Evening at Deepings Library. 7.30pm.  Prof Horace Cope and Chums present a lecture on the Ghosts of Deepings library and a tour of the building. Suitable for people aged 14 and over. £6 a ticket. For more information, contact deepingscommunitylibrary@gmail.com

Saturday 29th, Variety Show by Janus Theatre at St Johns Hall in Peterborough. 14.30 and 19:30. Come and enjoy a brilliant show full of singing, dancing and comedy. Tickets £7 on the door.

Saturday 29th. Big Baby and Children's Indoor Market.  12pm until 2pm at the RAFA Club in St.Neots. Pre-loved stall are available for just £10.

Saturday 29th, The Janus Theatre's Variety shows. St Johns Hall in Peterborough.  2.30PM Matinee and 7.30PM. Tickets are £7 on the Door, there will be Singing, Dancing and Comedy with buffet too.

Saturday 30th, Thorpe Hall Hospice on Thorpe Road in Peterborough. Pitches from 12pm & Shoppers from 1pm. Entry for buyers is 50p. There is no need to book in advance. The car boot is being organised by the onwards support group on the day.
