Ooo Aww... it's that time of year where the sky and our high streets will be illuminated.

Friday 4th, Fun with Glass Fusing Workshops at Glazed Creations, 3 Baldock Street, Royston SG8 5AY. 7pm until 9.30pm. Enjoy an evening doing something different for just £30, which includes admission and all materials. For more information send an email to for a booking form.

Tuesday 4th, Bridge Fair and Sausage supper. The event stats at 6.20pm with the procession being lead by The Mayor from Peterborough Town Hall. The sausage supper will then be served at 7.45pm and vegetarian sausages are available. Tickets are £20 per person and all proceeds will go to the Motor Neurone Disease Association, The Royal Air Force Association and The Salvation Army Good Neighbours Scheme.

Sunday 6th, The Festival of Remembrance at The Robert James Hall, in Comberton. The concert of remembrance starts at 2.00pm The City of Ely Military Band will be performing this year, along with Cadet Drummers and Piper, Kathryn Johnstone. Along with this a young Peterborough group, Skyfight, have written a song to be released for Remembrance and they will be performing this at the Festival. Tickets are available from the College on 01223 264 444 (7am to 10pm, Mon – Fri) Tickets cost £10.00 each, or a family ticket (two adults + up to two under 18’s) at £25.00

Saturday 12th and the 26th, Handmade For You Artisan Craft Fayre. 10am-3pm at the Peterborough Garden Park. A fun family day filled with a selection of artisan stalls including wood turned items, buttons pictures and keepsakes, fabric bags, cushions along with handcrafted jewellery, hand stitched cards and delicious food. The perfect chance for you to treat yourself.

Saturday 19th, Early Christmas Gift Fair at The Racing Centre in Newmarket. There will be lots of stalls selling a wide range of lovely gift ideas and the chance to meet Santa! All of the money raised will help fund your local air ambulance charity. 

Saturday 19th, Jumble Sale at Brook House in Cambridge. The event starts at 1.30pm and there will be a range of clothes, books and other nick nacks, with all the money raised going to help the care home. 

Sunday 20th , East Anglian Air Ambulance Early Christmas Gift Fair. It begins at 11am until 3pm at the Holiday Inn in Thorpe Wood, Peterborough. There will be over 20 stalls offering a range of unique gift items for all the family and it's only £2 entry, with all money raised helping East Anglian Air Ambulance. 

Sunday 20th, Friends of Greneway School Christmas Market. 11am until 3pm  at The Greneway School, Royston. This year’s market features over 40 stalls, selling a range of gifts, books, jewellery and much more. Pupils will also be running their popular children’s gift tombola and the Year 5/6 choir will be performing at 1pm. Food will be available throughout the market, along with a raffle.

Saturday 26th, Christmas Crafts. 10.30am until 4pm at the Octagon. A full day of festive crafts from card making to bauble making. 

Saturday 26th, Cambridge Blue Belles Annual Craft Fair . 10.30am until 4pm at St Andrew's Street Baptist Church. Survey a gorgeous selection of gifts and handmade goodies with the Blue Belles. They'll be on hand with plenty of tea & delicious homemade cakes so why not round up your friends and make an afternoon of it! Find out more here.

Saturday 26th, Barry's Heartbeat Christmas Craft and Gift Fair. 10am until 4.30pm at the Austin Hall in Yaxley. Come along and help raise money for the British Heart Foundation and be a part of the launch for Barry's Heartbeat Raising Awareness of High Blood Pressure Campaign. Look at over 40 stalls selling a variety of hand-made crafts and gifts suitable for all the family. The stalls include Jewellery, Paper Crafts, Face Painting, Sweets, Hook-A-Duck, Kid's Tombola, Beauty, Candles and much more. The African Pygmy Hedgehog UK Rescue organisation will also be there with hedgehogs for people to handle. Refreshments are provided throughout the day by the Yaxley Scouts and Guides. Sunday 27th, Craft and Gift Fair. CB22 5JT. Over 25 stalls selling lots of wonderful individual items, many hand crafted locally, to raise funds for Cambridge Cancer Help Centre and Scotsdale's Charitable Foundation.

Sunday 27th, The Big Switch On. 4pm at the Parish Hall, Wimblington. Father Christmas will be touring the village on his sleigh assisted by his elves. There will be festive games, stalls, small fairground rides, and music in the Parish Hall car park. Further details can be found here.

Wednesday 30th, The First King Of England... In A Dress! 1.30pm in Ely the preview which will be attended by the Mayor of Ely.
