Cambridge Tour De France Q&A

Cambridge Tour de France Q&A

We gave you your chance to ask any question to the officials planning the Tour de France stage in Cambridge on Monday 7th July.

Heart arranged a question and answer session with two of the people behind preparations for the Tour de France in Cambridge.

A stage of the world's biggest cycle race will begin in Cambridge at lunchtime on Monday 7th July.

Up to 120,000 visitors are expected in the city to see the race, which starts alongside Parker's Piece.

The Q&A

Ahead of the sporting spectacle, Heart spoke to Tony Taylorson from Cambridgeshire County Council and Neil Jones from Cambridge City Council.

These are the men in the know when it comes to the Tour in Cambridge.

Our Reporter Julia Greenaway put several questions to Tony and Neil.

Watch the Q&A to find out answers to a number of questions asked by Heart listeners, including:

Christopher Mulock asks: "What time does the tour start in Cambridge?"

Michael Burke from Cambridge asks: "Would be interested to know about support for care providers who may not be able to visit the elderly on the Sunday and Monday."

Richard from Saffron Walden asks: "How are you planning to fix all the pot holes to make the road safe for that volume of cyclists in the space of a week?"

Julian Bray in Peterborough asks: "Why does the route miss out Peterborough? That's despite the city being on the way from Yorkshire."

Rachel from Duxford asks: "Is the A505 going to be shut or are we able to cross the roundabout going towards Duxford at 8am that morning?"

Martin Harris from Whittlesey asks: "How much is this costing council tax-payers?"
