Cambridgeshire Police have released audio of a phone call made to a Cambridge taxi firm, after a driver was robbed.

The 42 year old driver, who works for Panther Taxis, was booked to pick up a fare from a communal parking area in Hazelwood Close, Cambridge, at around 3:50am yesterday morning.

When he arrived, a man walked up to the driver's door and demanded his takings.

He took two mobile phones and around £100 in cash before running off towards Sunset Square.

Police are describing the offender as white, aged between 17 and 20, and wearing a blue hooded top with the hood up.

Detective Constable Peter Rivers said: "We need to establish who made the call booking the taxi.

We know the call was made from a telephone box on the corner of Hazelwood Close and Histon Road at 3:40am.

The victim was not injured during the incident, but he has been left very shaken."
