Cambridgeshire: Bus Fares To Rise

Fares on most of Cambridgeshire's buses will go up from the 1st of April.

Stagecoach, which runs the majority of bus services in Cambridgeshire, is raising all ticket prices by an average of 5%.

The increase is being blamed on a 20% cut in the government's subsidy to bus operators and the planned 3p rise in fuel duty.

The company runs services throughout the county and on the Cambridgeshire Guided Busway.

Andy Campbell, Stagecoach Cambridgeshire Managing Director, said passengers can save money by using smart-card electronic tickets, which are cheaper than regular tickets.
