A Cambridgeshire man has gone missing while diving off the Scottish coast.

The 54 year old was part of a group exploring the wreck of a cargo ship off the west coast of Scotland.

The diver's boat contacted the Coast Guard yesterday (Tuesday) to say that a member of the group had gone missing.

A search for the missing diver was started, but was called off late last night.

The search resumed today (Wednesday) but the diver has not been found.

The sea and land search party is made up of Strathclyde Police, Oban RNLI, HM Coastguard and Navy divers.

It's not yet know which part of Cambridgeshire the man is from.

It's reported he became separated from the rest of his dive group while exploring the wreck Breda in Ardmucknish Bay near Oban, Argyll and Bute.

The Breda was a Dutch steam boat which sank after being attacked by a German plane in 1942.
