Cambridge: CCTV Of Van After Museum Raid
Detectives investigating the theft of valuable Chinese works of art from the Fitzwilliam Museum in Cambridge have released CCTV images of a van they believe may have been used in the burglary.
18 pieces were stolen from the museum on Friday, 13 April.
Detectives say enquiries have identified a white VW caddy van which they believed to have been used by the offenders.
The van has a dent in the driver's side panel and tinted windows to the rear.
It is believed to have been stolen in the Tower Hamlets area of London on 7 April.
Detective Chief Superintendent Karen Daber, who is overseeing the investigation called Operation Tundra, said: "We know the van we are interested in tracing travelled down Trumpington Street, away from the Fitzwilliam Museum at about 7.40pm on Friday, 13 April.
"The vehicle has been seen on CCTV going past the Trumpintgon Street Park and Ride and heading in the direction of the M11.
"We would like to hear from anyone who thinks they may have seen the van in or around Cambridge before or after the burglary which happened at about 7.30pm.
"We are also keen to know where that van is now and anyone who has seen it since 13 April should contact us immediately."
Anyone with information should contact police on 101 or Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555111.
