East Cambridgeshire Drugs Raids

Seven people have been arrested as part of an investigation into Class A drug dealers in East Cambridgeshire.

Officers raided homes and found drugs in Ely, Soham, Littleport and Witchford yesterday.

Three women and a man were arrested in Ely.

Two men and a woman were arrested after warrants were carried out in Soham, Littleport and Witchford.

They've all been released on bail and will return to Ely Police station soon for more questioning.

Inspector Andy Bartlett, who led the raids, said: "It was a massive team effort and involved the whole of the sector. It was part of a crackdown on class A dealers in the Ely area.

Our aim was not just to catch criminals but to send out a strong message that we take drugs offences very seriously."
