Cambourne: Violent Man Jailed
A man from Great Cambourne, who hit a woman while carrying a meat cleaver, has been jailed for four years.
Residents reported Benjamin Boak to police after he was seen banging on a door in Glebe Road, Cambourne on Saturday 7th July 2012.
The 24-year-old, from Bucksherd Close in Great Cambourne, was shouting abuse and threatening people while waving a meat cleaver around.
Armed officers and the dog unit attended the scene but Boak had got into his car and driven away. He then went on a 'high speed rampage' shouting abuse at people. One family was cycling along Jeavon's Lane when Boak threatened to kill the mother for telling him to slow down. Boak was later arrested in Bucksherd Close when he was aggressive and violent towards officers. A meat cleaver was found in a bin at his home.
Boak pleaded guilty to affray and possession of an offensive weapon at Cambridge Crown Court on Friday 31st August.
He was sentenced to a total of four years in prison minus 65 days remanded in custody.
