Huntingdon: Missing Diver Found Dead

A Cambridgeshire man who went missing while diving off the coast of Scotland has been found dead.

54 year old John Skerry, from Huntingdon, got split up from a group that was exploring a shipwreck in Ardmucknish Bay near Oban, Argyll and Bute, on Tuesday.

His friends called the Coast Guard when he didn't surface.

The Royal Navy, Coast Guard, RNLI and Strathclyde Police were all involved in a search for Mr Skerry.

His body was found by Police Divers at around noon yesterday (Thursday).

Mr Skerry's relatives have been told.

The dive group was exploring a shipwrecked boat, called the Breda, which was a Dutch steam boat which sank after being attacked by a German plane in 1942.
