Thieves have driven a stolen four by four into a shop in Little Paxton, near St Neots, and stolen a cash machine.

The offenders used a Land Rover which had been stolen from Newmarket to smash into Costcutters in Parkway at 11:20pm on Monday.

They then loaded the ATM into the back of another vehicle, believed to be a green Volvo estate, before driving off.

According to Police the offenders wore face coverings and dark clothing.

Then, shortly before midnight, some clothing was found burning in a barn in Easton Road in St Neots.

Detective Constable Becky Mainwood, who is investigating, said: "I would urge anyone who saw either of these vehicles prior to the raid, or the Volvo afterwards, to call police.

I would also like to hear from anyone who saw anyone acting suspiciously in the area in the days leading up to the incident."

Anyone with any information is asked to call DC Mainwood on 101 or Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555111.
