Peterborough: Men On Trial Accused Of Helping Serial Killer

Two men from Peterborough accused of helping a female serial killer are due to stand trial.

Joanna Dennehy, 31, of Bifield, Orton Goldhay, Peterborough, pleaded guilty to murdering three men at the Old Bailey in November and is in custody awaiting sentencing.

The pleas came after the bodies of Lukasz Slaboszewski, 31, Kevin Lee, 48, and John Chapman, 56, were found dumped in ditches in Cambridgeshire in March and April last year.

Each man died from multiple stab wounds but until now little explanation of how or why Dennehy carried out the killings has been given in court.

Gary Richards, aka Gary Stretch, 47, of Riseholme, Orton Goldhay, has denied three charges of preventing the lawful burial of all three men and the attempted murders of two other men.

Leslie Layton, 36, of Bifield, Orton Goldhay, has denied perverting the course of justice.

Both will stand trial at Cambridge Crown Court.

Dennehy has also admitted "preventing the lawful and decent burial'' of all three murder victims and two charges of attempting to murder two other men.
