Saturday 5th October We are holding a Charity Soap Box Derby in Duxford this coming Saturday (5th October) from 12.00 noon, starting at The Plough public house and completing a 1.5 mile course around the village in aid of Cancer Research UK. Saturday 12th October Peppa Pig Comes To Springfields Costa, the UK’s favourite coffee shop chain are set to re-open the doors of its Spalding coffee shop at Springfields Outlet Shopping, following a refurbishment that has seen the store transformed with brand new counters, tills, flooring and furniture. To celebrate the new look Costa, the store will be running a number of promotional in-store activities on Saturday 12th October.  Plus children’s favourite Peppa Pig will be making personal appearances to keep the little ones entertained at regular intervals between 11 a.m. – 3 p.m.

Friday 18th October Rainbow Playgroup Halloween Disco. Come along to Arbury Community centre. Its starts at 5

Saturday 26th October Cambridgeshire Family History Society Fair 10.00-16.00 Girton Glebe Primary School, Girton, CB3 0PN Inspired by ‘Who Do You Think You Are?’ to look into your family history?  Been researching for a while and come up against a brick wall?  Come along to the Cambridgeshire Family History Society Fair at Girton Glebe Primary School (CB3 0PN) and get some free advice from local family history experts. There will be a free internet research room run by the Society’s volunteers with access to findmypast.co.uk, ancestry.co.uk and britishnewspaperarchive.co.uk as well as the Society’s own transcribed parish records.  A variety of talks will take place throughout the day and traders and exhibitors from neighbouring societies will be on hand to offer specialist advice. Admission to the fair is free, but attendance at talks is priced at £2 per person, per lecture.  Free car parking will be available on site.
