Cambridge Company Advertises For Job With 2,000 Penguins
Could this be your dream job - working in the Antarctic, alongside thousands of penguins?
More than 1,000 people have applied for the job of running a post office there.
The UK Antarctic Heritage Trust (UKAHT) says it needs 'committed individuals to make up a team of four to spend five months running the shop, post office, maintenance and museum operation at Port Lockroy, on the tiny Goudier Island off the Antarctic Peninsula.'
Those applying will have be ok with not showering for up to a month, while living among '2,000 smelly penguins'.
The job advert warns that 'living conditions are comfortable though basic with no mains power, heat or water, and limited communications'.
You need to be 'positive, personable, and happy to be confined to a small island', if you're applying.
The closing date is this Friday, 27th Feb.
