Driver Arrested Over Fatal A141 Collision
A man's been arrested today (Tuesday 17th) in connection with a fatal collision between two lorries on the A141 at Hartford on March 10.
The driver of one of the lorries, Philip Asplin, 59, of Cedar Close, March, suffered fatal injuries after the lorry he was driving collided with another HGV and instantly caught fire.
The other lorry caught fire a short while later, however the driver, a 23 year-old man from Hornchurch, Romford, Essex, managed to escape although was taken to Hinchingbrooke Hospital serious but not life threatening injuries.
He has today been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and is currently in police custody in Huntingdon.
Officers are keen to speak to anyone who witnessed the collision or saw either of the vehicles leading up to the moments before the incident.
