Man Charged Over Fatal Crash On A141
A man has been charged in connection with a fatal collision between two lorries on the A141 at Hartford on March 10.
The driver of one of the lorries, Philip Asplin, 59, of Cedar Close, March, sadly suffered fatal injuries after the lorry he was driving collided with another HGV and instantly caught fire.
The other lorry caught fire a short while later, however the driver, Vasile Chindris, 23, of Percival Road, Hornchurch, Romford, Essex, managed to escape although was taken to Hinchingbrooke Hospital serious but not life threatening injuries.
He was arrested yesterday (Tuesday) and has since been charged with causing death by dangerous driving.
He has been remanded in police custody and is due to appear at Cambridge Magistrates' Court today.
Officers are keen to speak to anyone who witnessed the collision or saw either of the vehicles leading up to the moments before the incident.
